Caregivers, Clocks, and Calendars…your March update awaits you!

Reader

Annnnnnnd just like that we're in March! I don't know how winter has felt like years, yet I'm still surprised to be in this new month. Time is weird. Anyhow, I always think of the month of March as an action verb reminding me to keep moving, keep trying, and keep the faith. I invite you to join me.

In honor of that, here are some things you need to know--and can take action on--from the Positively Productive world:

  1. CAREGIVERS - The latest episode of the Positively LivingⓇ Podcast offers invaluable advice for caregivers on how to organize information, communicate effectively with medical teams, and manage expectations to make the process easier. Dr. Monique Nugent, a practicing hospitalist and author of "Prescription for Admission," joins me and her tips on proactive communication and the practice of debriefing are amazing advice in any caregiver situation. You’ll definitely want to listen to this episode if you are a caregiver (or know one) or are navigating hospital/medical visits.
  2. CLOCKS - Those who practice Daylight Saving Time will need to “spring ahead” this Sunday 3/9/25, which means moving the clock ahead and “losing” an hour. Psychologically, I’m not a fan, but the change does offer brighter mornings, which I hope will help us "rise and shine" a bit better. Two things you should consider: a) Most devices auto-correct, but watch for a couple that need manual adjustment, like older cars or wall clocks and appliances. b) You may feel the impact this week. It doesn’t seem like one hour would matter, but it can, especially to kids and pets. Take the time you need to transition accordingly.
  3. CALENDARS - As we await actual Spring here in the Northeastern US, I am reviewing my calendars into the summer and beyond. As a mom, I need to plan family events months ahead, and as a podcaster I batch content as well using themes for upcoming months at a time. During this time and planning, I also look at my calendar to see what kind of coaching availability I have. I currently have some space for new clients – a few accountability and a few more strategy sessions – if that is something you’re considering. If you aren’t sure, but you know some kind of session could help, the easiest place to start is a free coaching consultation call. You get some free coaching out of the deal, but more importantly, you get a sense of what’s next for you (whether we work together or not).

I have to admit that this winter has been rougher on me than I anticipated, but Spring often gives me the hope and energy I need to push through, which is why I am excited for it to arrive. I’m curious how you’re feeling? Have you also felt the dip in energy and the brain fog? If so, I’m here for you and ready to help. We got this!

Wishing you spring in your heart and in your yard,

Lisa

Reader Have you ever tried a productivity tip that “works for everyone”…and felt absolutely deflated when it did not work for you? When you feel overwhelmed, it is tempting to look for a new solution: a new system, a new planner, a new routine, a new push of willpower. But if the way you are trying to be productive is not aligned with who you are, no amount of forcing it will feel sustainable. That is why self-awareness is still my number one productivity tool, and why I lean so heavily on...

Reader We hear about self-care all the time… but usually in the form of spa days, bubble baths, or vacations you have to “earn.” And while those are lovely, they’re not the kind of self-care that keeps you grounded and supported in everyday life. Here’s the truth I wish more people understood and believed: Self-care isn’t indulgence. It’s maintenance for your mind, body, and energy. One of the simplest ways to practice restorative self-care is by creating something I call a Joy List, a...

Reader Have you ever noticed that some routines or systems look helpful on paper, but are surprisingly hard to stick with in real life? You may start strong, push for a while, and then quietly drift away from them. It’s easy to assume that means you lack discipline or motivation. But very often, it isn’t a motivation problem at all. It’s a values alignment problem. Your core values are the deeply held beliefs that guide what matters most to you. They shape how you make decisions, how you...
