Stop Operating on Autopilot! Here are 5 Steps to Be More Present in Your Life.

Reader

Do you remember the last time you actually tasted your morning coffee? Or truly listened during a conversation? Or stopped to smell the proverbial (or actual) roses?

I get it. We're constantly racing against the clock. As a mom, entrepreneur, and caregiver, "being present" sounds like yet another task on an already overloaded to-do list.

But what if being more present is exactly what you need? That's a rhetorical question because it is. Experiencing more “in the moment” moments (aka being present) is the key to a productive, positive life.

Regarding that issue of barely having time to spare, I have good news!

You can practice being present in under 10 minutes a day and still get the benefit.

In my latest podcast episode (episode 263), I share 5 game-changing steps to help you break free from autopilot mode and reconnect with yourself and what matters:

1️⃣ Slow Down: Stop matching the frantic pace of life
2️⃣ Identify Patterns: Recognize where you're on autopilot
3️⃣ Pause & Pay Attention: Create intentional moments of awareness
4️⃣ Ask Powerful Questions: Reconnect with your inner experience
5️⃣ Use the Buddy System: Create accountability for mindfulness

Would you like the full strategy? Listen to the new episode here (or read about it here) and catch some behind-the-scenes details as I describe my attempt at being more present while enjoying my morning coffee.

Are you trying to be more present? Is this something you're working on or is life too overwhelming to consider this habit? I'd love to know! Reply here or message me on social media and and let me know what’s going on.

Your takeaway: Being fully present helps you live more fully and be more productive.

Here’s to having a more satisfying, productive life.

Habits that serve us may need extra effort to get started, but are worth it in the long run. A Quickstart session is just the thing to establish a new habit, like practicing being present. We can develop a plan that works with you, not against you. I help you design an approach that works according to your bandwidth, which "actually feels like a relief as opposed to another set of things to do!" (That's a direct client quote - you can hear her say this on the podcast).

Reader Ever feel like traditional productivity advice just doesn't click with you? I hear that from clients constantly and the reason is simple: One-size-fits-all solutions are a myth. What makes you you is what will help you find your most effective productivity path, and your unique personality is one of those aspects. Knowing your personality and working with it is the real secret weapon to working smarter, not harder. This is why I do assessments first with my clients. When I coach you, I...

Reader Last week I asked you if you could magically fix one thing to be more productive, which of the following would it be: 1) figuring out what you need to do, 2) scheduling and fitting it all in, 3) developing the systems to track it all, or 4) getting yourself to take action. The results are in across multiple platforms and... ::Drumroll Please:: It was a TIE between #2 Scheduling it to fit it all in, and #4 Getting yourself to take action and do the stuff on the list! What does this...

Reader This month, I want to talk about something we often misunderstand: PRIDE. Yes, I mean that kind of pride. I am a rainbow-wearing, Free Mom Hug card-carrying safe space and any time we can elevate humans and prioritize love, it’s a good day. I also mean the simple concept of pride in terms of how we feel about ourselves. Because I have found it to be decidedly misunderstood, no matter the context. The pride I mean is not a boastful thing. It’s a powerful, self-accepting belief in your...
