Are Robert Mark Kamen, Chris Colombus, and John Hughes actually, like, life coaches?

If you’re like me, you find 80s movies to be pure enjoyment, though I’ll admit that there are some elements of them I see now as…problematic? Yep, some haven’t aged well. But I still love many and for good or bad, they've stuck with me. Turns out that can be a good thing! Back in the day, they were fun and perhaps poignant, but now I’m realizing they offer major life lessons wrapped in a fun-filled, often irreverent container.

Speaking of fun and irreverent things, if you appreciate that, you'll appreciate the Positively LivingⓇ Podcast and especially my latest episode on life lessons 80s movies can teach us about personal growth. In this nostalgia-packed conversation, Chris Clews (a speaker who turns pop culture into life-changing lessons) shares insights on three iconic 80s movies that will upgrade your personal and professional game.

In our episode, we focus on:

✓ Stress Management Secrets from Mr. Miyagi (Karate Kid)

✓ How Inclusion Actually Drives Success, Goonies style!

✓ Why Life's Challenges Are Actually Opportunities in the Breakfast Club

Our conversation will remind you that it’s NEVER too late to reinvent yourself and make the most of your life. And that a movie marathon could be just the thing to inspire you.

What 80s movie is a favorite of yours? And what lesson did you learn (or can you find now)? I'd love to know and I will share my recommendations as well when you reply...and I'll bring the popcorn! 🍿

Isn't it good to know you can learn and grow and still have a totally tubular time? ;)

Reader There is so much that affects our productivity, especially stress. It's why I studied to receive a stress management certification in 2020 (wild timing, huh?) We talked about ways to reduce stress response last week, but what if I told you there’s a nerve in your body that’s your ultimate stress-fighting ally? Reader As someone who's navigated overwhelm as an entrepreneur, caregiver, and mom, I've discovered that managing stress isn't about eliminating it completely—it's about building resilience and creating sustainable strategies. When we apply stress-reducing habits to our regular routine, they can make a world of difference. In episode 256 of the Positively Living Podcast, I share these simple (and fun) stress-reduction tips: 1️⃣ Get Moving: Exercise isn't about being an athlete; it's about...

Reader If you have a messy home you're exhausted trying to conquer, chances are it’s not just you who made it that way. I have heard from so many clients and friends that they could have an organized home if they lived alone! We often say things like this and laugh it off, but deep inside we're conflicted, so I wanted to get to the heart of the matter. We did so in last week’s podcast episode. I sat down with Crystal Nerpel, author of “Loving Your Home,” and we got very real about home...
