When doing it all doesn't work anymore...

Hi Reader

Ever hit that point where you just can’t keep up anymore, no matter how organized you try to be? Maybe you’ve got the planners, the color-coding, and the apps all set, but it's still too much. The math just isn’t mathing. You’re exhausted, overextended, and wondering what changed.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Most of us start out being able to “do it all.” We have the energy, the drive, and maybe even the validation that comes from handling so much.

Plus we’re taught, especially as women, that having it all means doing it all. Add in a high-achiever or caregiver heart, and the result is a schedule that’s overflowing and a self that’s running on empty.

This is not a capability issue. (By no means, you are more capable than most.) It’s not a systems issue either. It’s a “you’re only human” issue.

If you want to break out of the “do it all” trap, consider these gentle steps:

  1. Take inventory. Get everything out of your head and onto paper so you can see what’s actually there. (The Guided Mind Sweep is perfect for this.)
  2. Honor your current capacity. Energy changes with seasons of life and specific circumstances. Adjust your expectations instead of judging them.
  3. Prioritize with purpose. Ask what truly requires you and what can wait, shift, or be shared. Prioritize what you must do and adjust the rest as you go.

In this week's podcast episode, I share more about why we get sucked in to the "do it all" mentality and offer essential steps to escape that trap and redefine success.

When you start focusing on what matters most instead of trying to do it all, you create space for peace, creativity, and joy.

Hi Reader Have you ever noticed how many men you love seem to struggle in silence? They hold it together, power through, and push their feelings down, because that’s what they’re taught to do. But that kind of “strength” comes at a cost. As a wife and mom of sons, I see it up close. And as a coach who’s now certified in Mental Health First Aid, I know how urgently we need to change the story we tell about what it means to be strong. We’ve made incredible progress in the conversation around...

This month’s theme is: Practical Self-Care for Busy Women: Making It Stick Without Guilt - Date: Oct 31, 2025 -...

Hi Reader The holidays are marketed as “the most wonderful time of the year,” yet for many of us, they’re the most "something else entirely" (e.g., stressful, demanding, and exhausting). We head into the season hopeful and end up wondering how we got overwhelmed so quickly. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. The combination of unrealistic expectations, emotional triggers, and sheer overload can deplete us long before the festivities even begin. But it doesn’t have to be that way. You...
